Platform Background and Project Team

Background

Development of the VMC3 Resource Center was partially funded by a National Science Foundation Discovery Research PreK-12 grant (DRK-12 award #2100822). This grant allowed the project team to work with partner teachers over a three-year timespan, to learn about their successes and challenges in supporting students to apply three-dimensional science thinking and understanding. Each of the tools in the VMC3 Resource Center was informed and revised through conversations with teachers and observations of student work, along with input from an advisory board of top scholars in science education and formative assessment.
